Cork 2-22 Tipperary 2-19
Cork stripped Tipperary of their Munster and All-Ireland minor hurling titles following a gripping semi-final replay before a crowd of over 8,000 at Páirc Uí Rinn on Monday night.
They led by 2-17 to 0-12 after 42 minutes, but were hanging on for victory, when Tipp subs Cathal Bourke and Kevin McCarthy pounced for goals in a hectic finale.
A Jake Morris point two minutes into injury-time cut the deficit to the minimum, 2-20 to 2-19, but Brian Turnbull and Daire Connery settled it with late points.
Cork recovered from a slow start to lead by 2-10 to 0-8 at half-time. Two goals in five minutes by Craig Hanafin and Liam O'Shea helped them race 2-6 to 0-4 clear inside the opening quarter.
Impressive shooting from stylish midfielder Connery and the elusive Brian Turnbull maintained Cork's advantage. Tipp finished with 14 players after Turnbull's marker, Jerome Cahill, was dismissed on a second yellow card late on.
Cork now meet Clare in the final in Thurles on Sunday, the game set for a 2pm throw-in.
