Celtic captain Neil Lennon admits leaving the club would be a wrench but remains unsure where he will play next season.
The Northern Irish midfielder has been linked with a move to the United States, although no club has expressed a firm interest.
The financial benefits of such a move may be tempting, but Lennon insists it would be wrong to make a hasty decision on his future.
He intends to wait until the summer before giving serious thought to where his future lies in the game, but staying at Celtic is his preferred option.
Lennon (35) does not expect to retire at the end of the current campaign.
He told the Daily Record: "I'm definitely considering playing on. Whether my future is at Celtic or not is another thing.
"I'm totally focused on Celtic at the moment and I'll look at other opportunities, if they come my way, at the end of the season.
"Obviously, you come to a stage in your career when you look at opportunities which may lie elsewhere and playing is the most important thing.
"I'm still cracking on now at 35. I still feel good physically and there is no reason why I won't be here next season. But there is no better club than Celtic and, being captain, it would be a lot to give up." PA
