Dart services between Lansdowne Road and Dún Laoghaire in Dublin have recommenced after a “major disruption” saw services suspended until 8pm.
While services have resumed, ongoing delays and alterations are expected into Wednesday evening, Irish Rail said.
Services were suspended at 2.40pm after overhead lines between Booterstown and Blackrock were damaged during vegetation maintenance works.
Irish Rail said the damage had caused a “major disruption to Dart services” with significant delays to wider services as crews arrived on-site to rectify the issue.

The fault caused knock-on delays to Dart and commuter services through the city centre due to congestion on the line with Dublin Bus services honouring rail tickets throughout the disruption.
Services were solely operating between Howth/Malahide and Lansdowne Road as well as from Greystones to Dalkey until late on Wednesday evening while trains to Dundalk, Drogheda, Maynooth were also affected.
Services to and from Rosslare departed and terminated at Bray due to the disruption with bus transfers being arranged.
A spokesman for Irish Rail said the line between Lansdowne Road and Dún Laoghaire reopened shortly before 8pm after the overhead lines were repaired.
